Fresh Strawberries anyone!?

When passing through La Conner in Skagit Valley, we stopped by Berry Barn, in a farm along the highway who sells their freshly picked strawberries, and fresh homemade pies. I bought a flat of Strawberries which are ohh so smooth, so juicy and sweet, you don't need anything on it, and Freshly baked Marionberry Pie. Strawberries here in Washington has a very tender smooth exterior texture, unlike other strawberries that has a rough/hairy feel to it.
Above I have the umm um good Marionberry pie and My homemade Strawberry Ice Cream.

Home made Strawberry Ice Cream

I thought I'd share with you all, (if there is even any who reads my blog. lolz!) my home made strawberry ice cream topped with my own made strawberry preserve.

Oh my!

Too much to do too little time,..I kind of neglected my humble little blog. It has been a while now that I last posted something in my food blog,.. I guess I was preoccupied with flickr and also being very busy during the weekends lending some helping hand to the people that I care so much about. I can't promise that I will be spending more time here on my blog, but I will try and keep it up..

Here's what we had for dinner thursday night, my husband and I had a piece each of ribeye steak, grilled to perfection in our handy George Foreman Grill, served with a piece of baked potato with sourcream and butter and buttered, steamed asparagus. I was full!;P~

Blackberry Pie

This pie turned really well. I love how you can still feel the texture of the blackberry. Although, I should have baked the bottom crust first ( it was underdone, hence a bit floury in middle) but the top crust was perfect, I might say,. it was very flakey. But don't slice it before chilling or the stuffing will ooze out. Ayyayay! Served it with a scoop of homemade blackberry and french vanilla ice cream.. I thought i'd died and went to pie heaven! ;P

Blackberries, Oh my!

Blackberries here in the great NorthWest grow abundantly. They're every where you look,.. on the side of the freeway, someones backyard, and at the park and pathways. They're just like freckles dotting a happy face.
My husband and I had a blast picking ripe and sweet blackberries yesterday. Our basket that holds at least four pounds did not take long to fill. I was a happy camper! This morning I made Blackberry Pie and Blackberry Ice Cream. Both came out very, very good. The Blackberry ice cream was especially Wow~! :P

Blackberry IceCream

My first blackberry ice cream experiment I did in my new ice cream maker attachment. And it worked wonderfully. The Ice cream came out very, very good!
